Crater Lake

Friday July 13th saw us continue our motor trip towards Vancouver, via Crater Lake in Oregon.  Here is the South entrance sign.

This lake have an average depth of almost 2000 ft and is the deepest in north america and seventh in the world.  Consequently it has a very deep blue color.

Crater Lake was formed when a massive eruption of Mount Mazama 7700 years ago caused the mountain to collapse, leaving a steaming caldera. Centuries of rain and snow filled the caldera creating Crater Lake.

We continued on to Portland and visited the Portland temple.
